Pay It Forward Project

-->First thing first,
We need a document no bigger (but can be smaller than) 8.5 by 11 (Which is the size most printers will use) that is easily readable and designed/illustrated uniquely since this project is certainly a unique one. The purpose of this paper is for anyone to be able to acess the design on the EnSpire blog, so they can print out their favorite design and continue the game.

It can be double sided, however, remember not everyone is very technical with printing.

These are the tings that MUST be on the paper.

1. The Poem

Creative Pay-It-Forward
by Alyssa Arter

Creative Pay-It-Forward is the name of the game
A concept forgotten- we should all be ashamed.
The idea is simple; I’ll share it with you
And once I do that, you can try it out too!

Lately, it seems, you come to my mind
And I want you to know that I hope things are fine.
I’m sending to you, just a little something
To brighten your day; that you didn’t see coming.

I hope that you smile knowing I thought of you
In return, I want you to play the game too.
Please don’t even think of sending something my way.
Pay it forward, not back. You’ll make someone’s day.

January 2013

  1. The Enspire blog link so that people will easily access and print out their favorite “Pay it Forward” game rules. http://en-spire.blogspot.com/
  2. An area for the person playing the game to sign or write their own note to the person they are sending it too. (Some may not choose to say who it is from).

Optional
-You can design a “To & From” tag to go along with your design for people to attach to their package.
-Be creative! That is the goal after all. We want to make people smile and get excited for this project.

We will be posting all of the entries on the Enspire Blog. We would also like to include links to your own websites/blogs to show off your art work too. I hope you get excited about this project like we are!!!

Pay it Forward 2013

Hey everyone!

First it has been to long since we have been blogging and it's time we start the conversation again!

Second....Heather Sisson had a great status that I thought I would share...

"2013 Creative Pay-It-Forward : The first five people to comment on this status will receive from me, sometime within the next year, a gift - perhaps a book, some baked goods, a candle, or some other surprise. There will be no warning, it will happen when the mood strikes me. Inbox me your address, if I don't already have it! The catch is the first 5 to respond must post this message on their Facebook page and make the same offer. Lets make 2013 a Pay-It-Forward year (sounded like a "fun" idea) *Remember, I am a crafty person and you may get something really nice!"

We encourage everyone to try! Of course we all want to use our talents to earn money, but sometimes giving can be just as rewarding. Even if it is just a silly 5 minute sketch.

Hope your 2013 year brings yourself and others plenty of joy. And we really hope you think this idea is as awesome as we do!

A Life in a Sketchbook

Hello all,

I'd like to focus on a very important topic today...keeping a sketchbook.
Seems like a no-brainer huh?
The reality is - at least for me - after school I kind of started to neglect keeping a sketchbook (a big no no).

Keeping a sketchbook is one of the most important things for any creative person to have. As I am beginning my process of setting out to re-start my sketchbooking, I looked to a blog that I have been following for quite some time now. This sketchblog is AMAZING. This artist is so talented and is a huge inspiration to me to get going on my own sketchbook.

Your sketchbook in essence is a journal of your life as a creative, it contains all your stories and inner thoughts out on paper. I have realized this is exactly what I need to be doing in order to grow as a designer. My own blog is called "Designing my life," and I think this is the perfect theme to have for a sketchbook.

Hope this inspires you guys to keep an intimate relationship with your sketchbook even after school.

Feel free to send us some pictures of your sketches (the serious and the silly) so we can see what's going on in your heads!

Want Us to Post your Art?

Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to let you know what we would be more than happy to post any artwork you may have. It will help get your artwork out there AND hopefully we can start giving each other feed back and even help critique artwork.

Remember, we just want to help keep in touch, communicate and start a conversation. It can be hard to stay motivated, but you are not the only one going through these difficulties. You'll get noticed if you stay active, keep talking and keeping your portfolio up to date.

Just email us your artwork at hello.en.spire@gmail.com or comment on this post if you have questions. You can also find us on twitter and facebook now too!

Thanks!

Facebook!

Hey Everyone!

We decided if we really want to get our idea out there we needed to start a Facebook page. There we will be able to post contest photos and sort them into albums... maybe that will even be our way to have everyone vote on the winner.

We are still in our beginning stage, so if you have any questions, or suggestions feel free to let us know. Any ideas are welcome. EnSpire is about helping artists communicate with each other, and hopefully challenge them in weekly contests. We don't want to limit to only illustration or only graphic design. This group is for any artist, and if we have to, maybe we can eventually have different categories for contests. There is no limit!

Thanks!

Diving into a pool with no water

What? No followers yet?! (besides myself and Sam...) C'mon guys! If we post cute animal videos will you guys join us?
Don't make us do it!

We would like to get at least 5 followers before we set you up with a challenge so for now enjoy some of the things that inspire us!
We are hoping to post daily to keep some interest :)

Also feel free to send us questions/comments/your inspiration/worries/art in general/school/life ect tohello.en.spire@gmail.com
and we will answer them here. If there is anything we don't know or if the topic is more of a personal opinion then we will post it and ask our, hopefully soon to be, community to help answer!
